Need to know what engine you have.
ACDelco 41-601
Chevy Truck Month starts 9.23 and goes to 10.31
No but, if the crank sensor goes bad you lose the fuel pump and spark.
One end goes on the spark plugs, the other goes on the distributor cap.
Green coolant
15X7.
What i would do first is check the distributor cap and rotary button that's what usually goes bad first. if that's not it it could be the coil or maybe even the distributor itself.
Spark plugs are a cheap and quick fix if one goes out. The cost to replace one on a 454 chevy engine however can differ depending in the spark plug brand.
That is the rubber boot that is on the end of the spark plug wire that goes onto the spark plug.
The spring goes down into the engine.
How many miles do you have on the spark plugs? Have you the truck since new? If you haven't change the plugs I would start there. I that doesn't fix it then you will need to look at the plug wire. If you can find a parts store that will download the computer on the truck. Is the service engine light on, has it come on when it happens and then goes out? Since the introduction to the new OBD2 computers some of them will store info and can guide you to the problem.
In 83 Chevy trucks did not have a v6. They had either a 250 or 292 straight six.
