It stands for International Organization for Standardization. It was established on February 23, 1947 by a non governmental organization which promulgates worldwide proprietary industrial and commercial standards. The ISO have a wide variety of standards that are widely accepted by organizations around the world. Though not all of their standards is a requirement, organizations are urged to become ISO certified as it poses many advantages that different organizations can benefit from for their businesses.
ISO 9000 is a set of international standards that provide guidelines for implementing a quality management system. These standards help organizations ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer requirements and enhance customer satisfaction. ISO 9000 outlines principles for quality management, including a strong customer focus, leadership involvement, process approach, and continual improvement.
The accreditation is a peer review system. Accreditation agencies are non-government organizations evaluating schools and colleges based on a predefined set of standards for quality guidelines to assure higher standards of education. This system is thorough and considered trustworthy.
The standards for the game are established by the rules and enforced by the umpires, the standards for the team are established by the Manager, but the standards for the players are established by the players themselves.
The international set of standards developed for information technology is known as ISO/IEC 27000 series. These standards provide guidelines and best practices for information security management systems to help organizations protect their information assets.
