Minnesota extends further north. Its border continues onto Lake Superior, north of Wisconsin's border on the lake, and meets Michigan's border just below Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. Minnesota and Michigan border Canada, but Wisconsin does not.

Minnesota is further north than Wisconsin. In fact an area in Northern Minnesota called "The Northwest Angle" is the northernmost point in any of the 48 contiguous states.
