the American Bridge Co., a subsidiary of US Steel was responsible for at least part of the project. My late father was a superintendent on the bridge construction and got my brother a summer job stringing cables for the bridge sometime in the early 60's. Everyone in construction had a nickname then and they called him Ringo because he had longish hair!
