He was married to her for 29 years, but Ellen's death in 1914 lead Woodrow Wilson to deep sadness and put an end to their lovely time together. About one year later, he remarried another woman named Edith Bolling Galt. Their wedding day was on December 18, 1915. They were married for about 9 years before Wilson died on February 3, 1924.

He believed that the Russian comunists were trying to overthrow the US government. He arrested 16,000 SUSPICIOUS people total. Most of these people were releasd , but some were deported to Russia. This became known as the Palmer Raids. People began to dislike Palmer and he made the Espionage and Sedition acts in 1917 and 1918.
