Arizona is called "The Grand Canyon State" for a reason.

Ironically, many citizens of Arizona were initially furious that the national government made this designation. We see this several times: people are mad at the federal "land grab" (of federal land), tourists come to the national parks service area, people make a ton of money due to the tourists, people forget that they were initially mad, and these people make no admission that they were wrong. Then the federal govenment makes another designation, and the cycle repeats.
