All states of the United States accept section 8 vouchers. The section 8 program is a federal program that is handled by the local housing authorities. But the voucher is only good at the jurisdiction that issued the voucher or where the voucher was ported to. To use your voucher at another jurisdiction you must arrange with the issuing housing authority to port over to the receiving housing authority.
You can determine if certain houses are Section 8 by contacting the local Public Housing Authority in the area where the houses are located. They can provide information on properties that accept Section 8 vouchers and assist you in your search. Additionally, you can look for listings on websites or platforms that cater to Section 8 renters.
Quite often your local housing authority will have a list of homes for rent, which will accept section 8 vouchers.
Section 8 applications are only available for low income or subsidized housing. Your local housing authority or the Health and Human resource department will be able to provide you with exact information. The owner or property management company determines whether or not they accept section 8. Most low income housing accept section 8 but to find out if others do you will have to check with the owner or property managers.
There is no such thing as a Section 8 Landlord. There are either public housing developments and apartments, or there are landlords who are willing to participate in the Housing Choice Voucher Program (I.e., accept section 8 vouchers).
Orchard Heights and Quail Ridge acept section 8 and are located in Rialto, Ca.
