The entire Gulf Coast was affected, but Mississippi had the most damage. In New Orleans, houses were flooded. On the coast of Mississippi, entire towns were wiped off the map. Houses were obliterated. Most of the damage that happened to New Orleans happened after the storm because of the levees breaking. But if you travel to the coast now, you can see the destruction of the storm still remains everywhere.
honest to god don't trust the media new orleans got the most deaths biloxi Mississippi looked like a nuclear war head hit it and had a wider disaster area just not as many deaths. by the way just putting this out theyre i live near both and went to both after the storm both were hit hard but you would of never got me to take shelter in biloxi everything and every one are gone it wiped it off the face of the earth gone forever they have started rebuilding. if new orleans would of been hit like biloxi thank god it wasnt theyre would of been no one left alive. compare footage of biloxi ms to new orleans and you will see what iam saying theyre is alot of it on YouTube. the media focused on nola because of all the dying people and shootings n stuff. if the quadrant would of hit them like it hit mississippi theyre wouldn not be a thing left.
The Mississippi Gulf Coast was hit the hardest.
While New Orleans also suffered death and destruction, the reason for this was the direct result of levee failures and what most people call a "man-made disaster'.
Mississippi was in the northeast quadrant of the hurricane (the worst side) and was hit with almost unimaginable destruction, which is linked directly to the hurricane and not because of man-made failures.
