Make sure that you start at an early age, the earlier, the better. If you start too late, they will not obey your commands. Also, boxers and bull dogs alike, do NOT like to listen to other "alpha" males. Make sure you teach them you are in control.

Boxer pups are safe for children if bought from a reliable source. Temperaments range from dog to dog so you have to evaluate each puppy different, not really by breed.
Although it is unusual, I had a boxer that whelped 12 pups. Some died and many were under weight.

Free boxer pups might be found at a charity animal shelter or a police pound. It is worth checking the health and temperament of the animals rather than just getting them because they are free.

You take the pups, feed them , train them, protect them and then take them, forever battling with coyotes, bears, and a hawk to get them to your summer hunting grounds.
