I have no idea how old this question is, but I've recently moved from California and can't find it anywhere in the Northwestern states. In researching, I've found that the M. A. Gedney Company bought the license for Del Monte Sweet Pickle Relish in 2006 and they only distribute it in California, Nevada, and Ohio. Go figure. Anyone want to start a campaign to widen the distribution area with me?? I won't eat another relish -- this is the only one I've ever been able to eat. (I think the other ones are too mustardy or sour -- I can't put my finger on it. The Del Monte is like chopped sweet cornichons.)
Hot dog relish is a spread made for serving on hot dogs. There are a variety of hot dog relishes. Examples are sauerkraut mixed with mustard, sweet pickle relish, and dill pickle relish.
The measurement of relish equivalent to 8 sweet pickles can vary depending on the size of the pickles and the consistency of the relish. However, as a general guideline, you can estimate that approximately 1/4 to 1/3 cup of relish is equivalent to 8 sweet pickles. This estimation is based on the typical volume of relish and the fact that relish is finely chopped or minced, which condenses its volume compared to whole pickles. It's always a good idea to adjust the measurement based on personal preference and the specific recipe you're using.
