It depends on what the wolf is doing. If feeding, the best bet is to hide your fear, and slowly back away. Don't make eye contact or try to provoke the wolf, whatever it's doing. If the wolf has no interest in you, slowly make your escape. If the wolf is intrigued, again, don't run, but climbing a tree might help.
Although they might be best known for their abilities at scavenging, all gulls also hunt and would be qualified as predators as well. And, as hatchlings, they also are preyed upon by other predators. So the answer might be that they are predators, prey and scavengers.
