To become a teacher within the public school system, you will need the obtain a bachelor's degree in an education program, and state teachers certification. This will take approximately four years post high school completion as a full time student, and provided you take the degree as prescribed by the college or university.

It all depends, are you talking about options or degrees? However if you are talking about options you'll need to consider taking the basics; English, Maths and Science although to be a more experienced teacher you'll have to take in these options History and Art and perhaps Religion and Geography

Depends on what subject you wish to teach.

For example if you wish to teach mathematics ], then a degree (BA, MA or Phd) in mathematics is required. On top of this a one year PGCE certificate. A PGCE is a 'Post Graduate Certificate in Education', and indicates your ability to teach the given subject.

For Elementary/Junior pupils a BEd is required. Within the BEd will be a focus on English , Mathematics and one or two other subjects. .
