any and everything reacts to water
there are different reactions that are a result with water.
ex:
Pennie's = copper tarnishes green
drugs (pills) [antibiotic reason's] = disperse throughout the water (liquefies)
paper = turns soggy
human body = oils start to drain from the body; fingers look like prune
these are examples of semi severe reactions but some reactions will not be seen, ex: stainless steel = just about nothing.
Pure water is a chemical substance, in that it has the same proportions (by mass) of the constituent elements. This concept was brought about by Joseph Proust when he discovered that, "All samples of a compound have the same composition; that is, all samples have the same proportions, by mass, of the elements present in the compound." This is the Law of Constant Composition. H2O = 2 Hydrogen 1 Oxygen per molecule. If you separate water into Hydrogen and Oxygen through electrolysis and you will have a 2 to 1 mass ratio of H and O respectively.
polar and ionic substances are usually soluble in water. Since water (H2O) itself is a polar compound, it has the ability to dissolve any other polar compound. These include wide range of compounds like alcohols, polar and charged amino acids, sugars, salts etc. However non polar compounds like alkanes, proteins etc are insoluble in water. This is because of absence of any charge on them. Thus they form micelles in water.
it is a pure substance or H2O which is hydrogen and oxygen combined
Properties doesn't react; only substances react.
chem
A base reract with acids.
Bronsted-Lowry's BASES are a substance that either contains hydroxide ions OH- or reacts with water to form hydroxide ions.
Yes, water can react as an acid or a base - amphoteric.
"In water it forms an acid which reacts with the limestone to produce a water-soluble substance."

An Isotope- I think
A reaction takes place I think. Neutral substance is a substance with a pH of 7 like pure water and when water reacts with calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide and carbon 4 oxide is formed.
the way a substance reacts with other substances is called
Ammonia water is a base chemically, if it reacts with an acidic substance it will produce a salt that is dissolved in the water..
a covalent substance reacts with water to form some ions.
Yes, water can react as an acid or a base - amphoteric.
If it is soluble in water, it will dissolve until the water is saturated. If it reacts with water, it will react. Otherwise, nothing will happen.
