I personally like 8" in trucks due to the smaller cab size. You can go up to a 10" if you want more noise, but the smaller they are, typically the crisper.
If you are going powered pick one up on Crutchfield. if using an amp you can go any brand, my favorite is Rockford Fosgate, but I have friends that prefer JBL.
