The symbol for the diocese of Freising is a saddled bear. When Saint Corbinian was traveling to Freising (before it was a diocese), his pack horse was attacked and killed by a bear. The Saint made the bear take the saddle on himself and bear his possessions the rest of the way. The saddled bear still appears on the coat of the arms for the diocese.
