"Ordinary school" typically refers to the mainstream education system where students follow a standardized curriculum and attend classes on a regular basis. It is the standard school system that most students in a given region or country attend.
'School', as in the modern organised school system, did not exist in Ferdinand Magellan's time.
Many children attend FCPS in Kentucky. In fact, there are many thousands of children which attend this school system. The amount of children enrolled can then be broken down into the individual schools in which they attend.
If you live in another jurisdiction other than the one you attend school in, you are required to pay the school sstem for your tuition. Reason being - you do not live in a jursdiction over which the city school system has taxing authority. Therefore if you attend an out-of-jurisdiction school you must pay for the privilege of attending and using it.
The Italian school system is somewhat similar to the United States system in its structure. Children ages 6-16 are required to attend and classes contain about 25 students per class.
We have a multi-tier education system. It starts with nursery school - this is for children up to the age of five. From age five upto eleven, children attend primary school. From Eleven to sixteen - they attend secondary school. From sixteen to eighteen - the only choices open to school-leavers is either a job, college or a government-funded training course. From 18 and over, there is the option to attend University - provided they meet the entry requirements.
