Myocardial Infarction affects the heart's ability to pump adequate oxygenated blood, nutrients, water and hormones to the rest of the body. It can affect the brain if too much oxygen is deprived from the brain or any other organ for that matter. If the person is treated rapidly and can be saved measures will be take to restore the heart and any other affected organ to better health.

The circulatory system.

The circulatory system consists of arteries, veins and capillaries. Their job is to transport the blood around the body. The blood goes to the lungs to get fresh oxygen and to get rid of the toxic carbon dioxide.

When the blood is being moved through the blood vessels inefficiently, the whole body becomes affected because oxygen is not being delivered at its normal rate, and the removal of carbon dioxide is not done well either.

Early signs include feeling light headed and dizzy, getting out of breath after minor exertion.

In a heart attack, or myocardial infarction (M.I.) these are affected:

  1. smooth muscle of the heart (organ)
  2. the heart (organ) is affected
  3. blood flow of through the heart is reduced, thus affecting the Circulatory System
  4. But because the heart (organ) is a major organ and affects blood circulation, the effects of a heart attack cascade throughout the body, in particular the brain and kidneys.
  5. An M.I. can be mild or severe, the severest causing cardiac arrest.

Note: Smooth muscle of the heart does not repair itself very well, at least not to make any significant healing in the organ itself. Instead, part of the heart dies and the heart tries to keep working without that section of heart muscle. The heart muscle, therefore, can scar.

Because the circulatory systems is one of the main systems to do with the heart, and if you don't have enough TP to wipe the bung hole materials off you're heart it will cause a heart attack.
