I am actually sitting in my 03 cavalier right now and was wondering the same thing but mine seems to kick on around 210 which looks to be about the second hash mark above the 195
Chevy Cavalier should run about 195F or 91C
Where is radiator temperature sensor located on a 1997 2.4L Chevy cavalier
The 2000 Chevy Cavalier cooling fan shroud is held in place with 10 retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts and the cooling fan shroud will come off.
The coolant fan sensor is the same as the sensor that shows the coolant temperature on the dash gauge. It is located on the intake manifold.

Did u check your enigine cooling fan?
The engine cooling fan is not suppose to stay on. The temperature sensor on the motor tells the fan to kick on if the motor ever gets too hot, usually comes on at 210-215 if I remember right.
As long as it is the same displacement. Liters/cid. It should
If your cooling fan stopped working, it could possibly be your coolant temperature sensor. If you start your car and turn your defrost on high hot, your cooling fan should come on. If it doesn't, then it could be the fan motor or possibly a fuse. Good Luck. Andy.
depends of what kind of cooling system setup you got, but normally around 190 degress
This engine and cooling system fan on 210 F. and stabilize at 195 degree.... 210 on a hot summer day.... with a 180 thermostat
They were not use on that year. It don't have one.
