plague
Because Europe had such an extremely large population of rats and mice, the disease spread like wildfire. Mice and rats carried the disease from place to place, and ultimately caused many people to become infected.
In a place where people over populated, there will be easy spread of air born diseases like Ebola, Tuberculosis among others.
The disease spread by fleas being carried around on rats. In the filth and the warmth of the summer heat, the rotting rubbish is a perfect place for bacteria to breed. People living in the infected area had to sanitise in order to try and prevent the disease from spreading. When people died from the plauge, they hardley every let anyone see the deceased to try and stop the spread.

Yes because for example if somebody has chickenbox and went to a populated place he or she will spread the disease.
There has been some research that suggests that the use of agricultural products has been a catalyst to the development of the Tasmanian Devil facial tumour disease. This being the case, far less agricultural practice takes place on the western side of the island, so that could explain why the disease did not develop there. Once the disease was noticed, efforts were put in place to restrict spread of the disease, and so far, these have been successful.
There were several reason that this disease was spread from person to person. People at this time had no idea that bacteria even existed. The cites were so very dirty. People would throw their "slops" into the street (feces and urine), there were no sewer systems. This disease was really due to the bite of fleas. The fleas were carried by rats from place to place. The saliva of the fleas had the bacteria. At times the bacteria got into the lungs of the person and this produced something called pneumonic plague. A cough would spread this even faster and further.
if the disease can't be spread than how did the infected person get it in the first place? unless you conside alcoholism, birth defects (such as congenital muscular torticollis), ect. diseases, its impossible.
They really didn't know what caused it at first then they found out it was the rats. Another Answer: It has been said to be many things that caused the black plague. One theory was that the Jews who traveled from place to place brought it with them but they had built up an immunity to it. Another theory is that the rats that came in on ships and such brought it and it easily spread to people. Yet another theory is that the cats that ate the mice that had the plague came into people's homes as helpers and spread the disease.
