JFK's very old terminals 2 and 3, (which are connected) has Delta mainline amd Comair flights. Gates 23 and 25 have the passengers go outside to Delta connection flights. Gates 17 and 18 have jetbridge's and hold Delta's larger regional jets. I have heard Delta is currently trying to come up with a longer term solution for this old style terminal arrangement.
