To sync an iPhone, you can use iCloud, a computer, or MobiKin Assistant for iOS: iCloud: Go to Settings → [your name] → iCloud, then toggle on apps and data to sync automatically across devices. Computer: Connect your iPhone via USB or Wi-Fi to a Mac (Finder) or Windows PC (iTunes). Select your device, choose content, and click Sync. MobiKin: Use it to transfer, back up, and sync data between iPhone and PC/Mac quickly and securely. iCloud is wireless, computer syncing offers control, and MobiKin is fast and versatile.

What it means is, anything that you have downloaded for your ipod/iphone or phones etc, you have to sync it able to have it on your device. If you dont sync, it will not be on your device automatically but will be saved on your computer, so you can sync anytime when your ready.
