The two names, "oral herpes" and "genital herpes" are actually referring to two different strains of the herpes virus, HSV-1 and HSV-2 correspondently. While both of them are extremely similar in what symptoms they present and how they progress, HSV-1, or "oral herpes", has a preference towards the mouth area and HSV-2 or "genital herpes" has a preference towards the genital area.
Other than that, the only difference is that usually the HSV-2 or "genital herpes" is more aggressive and cause both more and worse outbreaks than the former type.
Another piece of fun fact is that having one strain of the virus usually gives you an increased protection from getting the other type.
There are many differences between chlamydia and herpes:
Chlamydia and gonorrhea are bacterial and curable; and herpes is viral and recurring. Herpes is not curable, but can be controlled with medication. Chlamydia and gonorrhea differ in that they're caused by different bacteria.
Chlamydia and gonorrhea are caused by different germs, although many of the symptoms and consequences are the same. It's not possible to tell the difference based on signs and symptoms; for that, you need testing. Both can be cured by various medications -- some in common, most not.
vaginal sores can be caused by variety of things including herpes.
herpes is an STD, which can cause vaginal sores, but not all vaginal sores are contagious like herpes ones.
Gonorrhea is a bacteria, herpes is a virus.
Herpes is a word, gonnerra is not...
Herpes is a viral infection. Gonorrhea is a bacterial infection.
Gonorrhea is an STD caused by the bacterium diplococcus, it is a gram negative bacteria. Strept throat is caused by the bacteria known as streptococcus.
Herpes is a painful viral illness spread by sex, but it does not have long-term consequences. HIV is a viral illness spread by sex that will cause death.
The only difference between genital and oral herpes is the location of the bumps. Both can be caused by either type 1 or type 2 herpes simplex virus.
HSV stands for the Herpes Simplex virus. HIV stands for the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. They are two separate conditions. They are both viruses, both sexually transmitted and neither can be cured.
The difference between HIV and AIDS is that HIV is the virus that causes the disease AIDS. You can be a carrier of the HIV virus and not contract the disease but you can infect others.
The reason why the doctor needs to know the difference between AIDS and HIV is because HIV is the cause for AIDS.
It's possible. People with herpes can be more suceptable to getting HIV because it can pass more easily through open sores or blisters. So some one with herpes should abstain from having sex while they have any signs of a break out. But just so you know because some one has genital herpes that doesn't always mean they have HIV too.
NO! Though you can have both concurrently.
You have your doctor tell you what you have.
A carrier is a person who carries HIV but does not get infected by it.HIV positive is a person that has HIV and gets infected by it.
No hun herpes and AIDS are not related to each other, they are totally different viruses. How ever if some one has herpes then they can be more suceptable to getting HIV/AIDS because it can travel more easily through open blisters or sores caused by herpes.
HIV, measles, chickenpox, the common cold, herpes, and mononucleosis are all viral infectious diseases.
There is a huge difference between them. HIV Positive means that the test found HIV-Antibodies in your blood (you can find them in the mouth sometimes). A HIV-Negative test means that the solution did not find any signs of HIV in your body and your in great shape.
Yes you can, if you are infected with the virus.
HIV is the virus that causes AIDS. Hence, HIV in the virus and AIDS is the disease that results from the virus.
