What the flag in Greece?

The Greek flag is consisted of nine evenly placed alternating blue-white stripes. which symbolize the original 9 provincial regions of the newly formed nation when it won its independence in 1825 from the Ottoman Empire, then adjacent to the top five stripes on the upper left corner field is a large blue square with a white cross inside.

The white symbolized the purity of peace, the blue symbolizes the ocean around Greece, and the cross symbolizes the Eastern Orthodox Faith of which over 98% of Greeks belong to.
