That's a bit of a tough one. Augustus' contributions to the west can't be summed up in a tiny forum like this. Basically without Augustus western society as we know it wouldn't exist. Augustus' extensive legal, military, religious, political and social reforms transformed Rome from a republic city state into a world super power. Without these reforms the Empire would not have existed in the way it did for very long. This enabled the spread of Roman law and culture to the provinces and beyond, the effect of which is evident everywhere even today. European justice and economics are still based on the Roman model, as are most western European languages based on Latin. Without Augustus no can say how Europe would have turned out.

very very powerful. He was the ruler of the entire roman empire. Which is spread out from England to the eastern coast of the Medditarian sea and beyond. Everything in between was his and he controlled it. so yes. very powerful.:)
