Immediately he was told. The attack happened on a Sunday morning about 8 AM, and the president was informed immediately by phone. My mother heard it on the radio that morning and my grandfather was reading the Sunday paper when she told him about the attack. He told her it was impossible. On 9-11 we watched it on TV.
