Honors classes are the next step up and are taught on an advanced level. Advanced Placement (commonly known as AP) courses are college-level courses that allow students to take exams at the end of the course for college credit. At high schools that offer dual-enrollment, students take classes at a nearby college, in addition to their high school courses, to begin working on a college degree.
