There are many different types of vets. Some work only on dogs, and cats, while some also treat reptiles, rodents and birds. Some treat large animals like cattle, sheep, pigs and horses. And some treat both large and small animals. There are also vets that work for zoos, or that treat wildlife.
There are others still that do research or care for the animals used in research. Some work for drug companies that make products specifically for animals. Then there are those that work at universities teaching others to be vets.
