Putting it simply the meaning would be something along these lines "What Good News does Matthew have for us today?" "What is he going to tell us about this man Jesus who we have heard so much about?"
Jesus' mission was to seek and to save the lost, and to give them repentance unto life, as his first recorded words in Mark's Gospel state:The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand:repent ye, and believe the gospel. (Mark1.15)
According to Christian beliefs, Mary gave birth to Jesus through a miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit, known as the Virgin Birth. This event is described in the Bible in the Gospel of Matthew and the Gospel of Luke.
you hear at first, first testament before jesus, then a psalm then a second readig from the second testemant or a letter, during jesus, and then a gospel which is when jesus would give parables
To give a topic or an idea to the reader. Like the title of a book might be "Snack Attack." Well doesn't that give you an idea about what the book might be about?
Not in the Christian New Testament, probably because in this case Jesus was the central figure. In line with normal literary usage of the time, although they probably knew the names of the thieves and may have even known them personally, the Gospel writers did not report it.
Christians don't think as one, but in the Gospel of Mark Jesus teaches that if you do not give clothes to those who are naked, if you do not give drink to those that are thirsty, you also leave Jesus without clothing and without drink. This means that Jesus identifies with the poor and if you neglect them, you also neglect Him.
One way is this:Jehovah's Witnesses as Christians bring the gospel of Jesus right to your door. There are well over 7 million of Jehovah's Witnesses who traverse the highways and byways of the whole world; stopping at every available house. The gospel which Jehovah's Witnesses bring, reaches you for FREE. That's also how it reaches mankind. We received free; we give free. The gospel of Jesus also reaches mankind, thru the pages of God's Word, the Holy Scriptures (also known as The Bible.) The Bible actually contains 4 gospel accounts written by 4 different people, from 4 angles. Then, Christ Jesus himself sent forth his disciples to bring the gospel to as many as possible.
He told them to go out and preach and teach the gospel to every living creature and it is still being done today.
The Infancy Gospel of Thomas is one of several surviving Infancy Gospels that give an idea of the miracle literature that was created to satisfy the desire of early Christians for more detail about the early life of Jesus. It contains the story about Jesus in the Temple at the age of 12, evidence that it was written later than the Gospel of Luke; and it was mentioned by Irenaeus around 185 CE. So, it can be assumed to date from the fisrt half of the second century CE. The Infancy Gospel of Thomas depicts a number of cruel and malicious deeds performed by the child Jesus. While these no doubt inspired awe and proved the miraculous powers of Jesus, the Gospel was at odds with the image of Jesus that the Church Fathers wanted to teach. No doubt this was an important reason for its exclusion.
The two men on the road after Jesus' death were Cleopas and another disciple, as mentioned in the Gospel of Luke (Luke 24:13-35). They were discussing the recent events surrounding Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection when Jesus appeared to them, though they did not recognize him at first.
