I have used Dawn dish soap....very carefully...on stray kitten I found who was infested with fleas. There is a lot of controversy about this...and it is very drying to the animals skins. There 'may' be store brands that are now okay for puppies and kittens, so you may want to try that first. If you use it on the puppy be very careful with his/her eyes. This will only be a temporary solution, but it may get you started. :)
Yes, as a rule of thumb, if a flea shampoo is safe for a kitten, it will be safe for a puppy. The reverse, however, is not true. Always be careful using a dog flea product on a cat or kitten. Cats are very sensitive to pyrethrin products that commonly used as flea control in the flea shampoos. Cats exposed to high doses of pyrethrins can show neurological symptoms such as convulsing and seizures.
You should check with a veterinarian first - many flea shampoos are intended for use on adult dogs and have anti-flea medication at adult dog doses. It actually may be better to take your puppies to a veterinarian and get oral or topical spot-on medications to deal with the flea population - these medications may be safer for a young puppy.
Also, you should be aware that this will not be a one treatment and done kind of deal - once you have a flea infestation you will be working through it for 2-3 months. You will need to treat all the four-legged friends you have in the house - the mother, all the puppies, any cats or ferrets, etc. Approximately 90% of the flea population you currently have is not on your dogs or pets - they are in the bedding and the carpet. It takes about 3 weeks to go from a flea egg to an adult flea, so you are likely to need to repeat treatment for several months before you can eliminate the infestation.
You can treat puppies with any topical flea treatment like Advantix. The puppies need to be 7 weeks old before you can use this product on the puppy. To treat a puppy younger than 7 weeks for fleas just apply the treatment to the mother and her close contact with the puppies will rid them of fleas.
no
feed it and find out
when she is at least 7 months old
It has to be at least 8 weeks because if you bathe it from 1 month to 7 months it could die.
I would not recommend giving a guinea pig any younger than 3 months a bath.
Yes unless you would like it in your house instead
I don't think so because if your 7 week old puppy gets tired, he/she should rest. But if they had lots of energy the day before and the next day don't seem to, then you should take them to the vet just to be safe.
you should test different types of food and find out which one he/she likes best.
Yes. Make sure that you use a very mild soap or puppy shampoo. Dont get any water in its ears and eyes. Make sure the pup gets dried completely before you give it back to the mother. Dont let it get cold.
It may be best to wait until it is around 6-7 weeks old, before you start giving it actual baths, instead try to clean it with a wet towel, using mild-warm water yea of course yhu can there are no problems with that at all
If it is a 2 week old gerbil, than its still a baby. I would say one should not be put in a sand bath until about 6-7 weeks, when they're more mature.
