if you were going to Brazil you would probally want to bring sunscreen and a bathing suit. learn some basic Portuguese phrases. the crime level is high so lock your doors. the food is great there are people every where selling things. they thing Americans have lots of money so they might cheat you for your money so watch out. the fruits are good too try some if you go
Handmade things are very finely crafted and cheap. Shoes and Havaianas flip-flops are also relatively cheap and very well-made.
I would not advise to buy things like electronics unless it's something you know you won~t find at home, because they're more expensive in Brazil. If you buy DVDs make sure that the region is compatible to yours, or you'll just be wasting your money as it won't play in a player with a different region number.
