Your dog may be pooping more and sleeping more than usual because it is getting sick. Your dog may also just be getting old.
You put the dog in front of the dog.
You CAN put acrylic paint on your dog, but it's not a good idea. The dog will almost certainly lick the paint before it's dry, ingesting the paint and possibly getting sick. Once the paint dries you'll have a hard time getting the paint off again in a manner that is safe for the dog.

It varies for each person. It's important to give yourself time to grieve and heal before considering getting another dog. There is no set timeline, so take as much time as you need to mourn the loss of your previous dog before welcoming a new one into your life.
Your old dog is probably jealous of your new dog. Your new dog is probably getting a lot of attention and without realizing it, you could start to ignore your old dog. Be sure to give your old dog just as much attention (if not more) as your new dog, so they don't get jealous.
Getting a dog is like having a baby. The dogs needs have to come before your wants. The feeding walking, training , playing , all take time, so be sure your dog is your #1 priority extra-curricular activity. You nevr get a day off. You have to plan ahead for your dog's care in your absence. For all this, you get unconditional love for the dog's lifetime if you are a good dog parent. For me, cheap at twice the price.
