I recommend the Corn Snake. Corn Snakes are good for first time snake owners because they are relatively small and rarely bite. They don't even have teeth!

corn snakes can bite, but the bite feels like a needle or a pin. You shouldn't be sick, but if you are its most likely that your'e just shocked.
The Corn Snake is a species of snake originating from florida. They are very calm, don't bite, aren't venemous and they are easy to care for. They are the first choice of new snake owners, because of their temperament, and simple housing needs. In fact, i own a common corn snake myself.I love them so much that my username is CORNSNAKE!!!!!
One of the nicest snakes in the world is the corn snake it's always found in corn fields but even if they do bite you their bites always feel like just a pinch
Corn snake because they are much more friendly and will only bite if you antagonize them. Even then they aren't poisonous. A ball python on the other hand, is very large and it will squeeze. To them you are just another prey for dinner. So definitely get a corn snake.
