She is considered a runaway and you could call the police to bring her home. She is 17 and a minor until 18.

If you are in communication with your daughter it would be good to talk with her and try to resolve issues within your family relationship before you consider having the police drag her home, which might be considered a little confronting by your daughter and quite likely won't enhance your relationship with her.

Provided you are confident she isn't at risk of some kind, it would be better to keep the line of communication open and as friendly as possible.

Should you honestly believe she is at risk this is all the more reason to talk with her. Calling the police might well become necessary in this case, and if the need is clear then do it, but hopefully it's a last resort.

Added: The above is mostly true and might be good advice, UNLESS she gets married and becomes self-supporting.

Report the child as a runaway. If the police find her they will either return her home or send her to social services.

In Texas, a 17-year-old is still considered a minor and generally cannot leave home without the permission of a parent or legal guardian. If a 17-year-old leaves home without permission, their parents or legal guardian could involve law enforcement to have the minor returned home.
