If it has a really old smell to it, I'd recommend throwing it out. What happens is over time, the top and middle notes disappear and so all you can smell are the base notes. This can come about if you leave your perfume, cologne...etc in the sun or in a hot climate, then cold, then hot, and so on. To make your fragrance last longer, store it in a cool, dark place away from the sun. This means you can go shopping for a new scent! Good luck!
It's the bottle that has the squeeze part attached. You put perfume in it and squeeze the attachment and it sprays perfume on you. They are very old fashioned.

I would suggest that you raid her current fragrances and note the brands and scents. If they are more floral, then choose a floral perfume; however, if they are strongly scented, then choose a strong-smelling perfume. I wouldn't say buy her the perfume that is getting low, as your wife may want a new perfume, but what ever designer make that one is (for example, Chanel or Dior), choose a perfume from that range.
yes it does, you can prevent it by storing it in a freezer though
No. Perfume was thousands of years old by the time the Romans founded their city. The type of perfume used as incense is traced back to the people of Mesopotamia, possibly the ancient Chaldeans. The Egyptians are credited with the type of perfume used for personal grooming.

You could go online and find the perfume cheaper. Websites like Ebay.com or Amazon.com could be of great assistance when getting different types of items. I really recommend ebay.com.
