Run the server on another port by opening the server.properties file in notepad and changing port to something else.
Note that if people want to connect to it they must include a colon (:) directly after the ip and then your custom port number
eg. 111.222.33.4444:12345
Make sure all instances of Minecraft Server are closed, also another application could be using the port. Try doing killall java then run the server.
Type "What is my IP" On google and copy/paste it in your direct connect box if you have your router port forwarded and a server program running on your PC
Minecraft has made it very easy to make a multiplayer server. Simply go to minecraft.net and download the server .exe. Type in the IP address of the computer you are running the server on and you will connect to your new server! Please note that you will have to port forward your server for people to be able to connect to it from the internet.
Port forward it.
You have to Port-Forward it
You simply change the port number in the minecraft server properties
For the default Minecraft port, the port is 25565 - however if you wish to have more than one servers running at once, you would have to select a new port, and you'd have to type your IP and at the end of that, add :25564 if you put 25564 as the port. (Include the colon!) I hope this answered your question!
They didnt port forward.
Your instance of Minecraft can't connect to the server. Possible causes include:Your Internet connection may be down. The server may be down.Your client or the server may be being blocked by a firewall. You may have typed the IP address or port number incorrectly. The server may be running via Hamachi.
Answer this question I need to know
To create a Minecraft server, you can follow these basic steps: 1-Choose a server software: There are various server software options available for Minecraft, such as Spigot, PaperMC, and Bukkit. 2-Install the server software: Once you have chosen a server software, you will need to download and install it on your computer or server. 3-Configure server settings: After installing the server software, you will need to configure server settings such as game rules, plugins, and server properties. 4-Port forward your router: If you are hos-ting the server on your computer, you will need to port forward your router to allow players to connect to your server.
To join a Minecraft Server you must have the server's ip address, followed by the port which for Minecraft is :25565. Errors such as 'timed-out' can be due to the host's firewall or anti-virus protection which is blocking you from connecting. Other faults can be because the host has not port forwarded making his server inaccessible by other users. You also cannot join the server if the server is not running or if there are too many players online.Search server lists and copy the ip. In minecraft press multiplayer and then direct connect or something and then do control c or v I can't remember...
