On short routes you will be offered free drinks and the snack basket. On Transcontinental routes such as JFK-LAX or ATL-SEA there will be a meal offered. A much bigger seat is available in first class and you will be one of the first to board the aircraft giving you plenty of overhead bin space for your carry-on luggage.
It is of course a matter of opinion but many frequent fliers do not think paying for first Class domestically on any airline is worth the money.
