It depends upon what you are using it for. I generally use room temperature water for cooking.

Your cooling system may be malfunctioning. When was the last time you flushed the system. Or, your motor may be running lean. Have you noticed a decrease in power since this happened?
On the vents closest to the main unit it should read around the same temperature that the thermostat is set to after its been running and then as the venting increases the temperature should be less, between 2 to 10 degrees different depending on how well the ducting is in the attic........
I presume the engine is running when the car is parked if the temperature guage does not move to the normal position when the car is moving at road speed but goes up when the car is stopped and the engine idling, then more than likely the thermostat is bad and needs to be replaced. If you se that the temperature guage is in the normal position anafter the car has been running a while and the temperature guage then goes down when the car is moving at road speed, then this confirms that the thermosta is bad.

Temperature when rises above 55 degrees F (10 degrees C) is considered running hot. You will feel difficult to run fast at this temperature.
