The tool is a 'star' drive bit... But if it's been overtightened (like the one on a friends van I've just ruined) it won't remove it... A word of advice, when you do get it of, replace it with a normal hex equivalent. That is what I am going to do whenever I get this one off my friends Combo.

it has not got one you have to remove gear box sump plate
Assuming this is a transverse mounted engine the drain plug is located at the rear of the sump 13mm spanner or socket fits the plug.
Its a M14 star bit
Every other Renault seems to be a 8mm square plug so don`'t see why not.....
On 1998 year ,The sump plug is on the bottom of sump at the rear right.
you can find the sump plug in rover spares department.

On a Fiat Punto, the sump plug is at the base of the sump. It should be a hexagonal fitment and somewhere between 12-13 mm. .
