Sensodyne toothpaste does not contain the chemical triclosan. Triclosan is a chemical that is used in making socks, cutting boards and soaps.
In the UK, it is common to use triclosan (Zinc Chloride), which is an antibacterial agent that reduces tartar and bad breath. Triclosan is also used in several other cleaning products including shampoo and hand soap. Studies show that soaps that use Triclosan have a slightly higher bacterial reduction on the exposed surface. Toothpaste that does include triclosan will act as a weak disinfectant. However, not all toothpastes include triclosan.
I have informally checked toothpastes and the only one containing triclosan is Colgate Total.
I do not know exactly but I know the ingredients in there they are Sodium, Monofluoro Phosphate, Silica, Calcium Carbonate, Triclosan, mint extract for flavour and base.
Triclosan is a weak acid (pKa 7.8)
sodium carbonate, quartz, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfate
Triclosan is not a mineral. It is actually an antifungal and antibacterial agent that was derived synthetically. It is considered to be toxic.
