The torpedo planes used by the Japanes at Pearl Harbor were the Nakajima B5N. The Allies refered to this plane as the "Kate". The B5N at the time of the attak was the best Torpedo Plane in service. The Kate was also used as a high level bomber in the attack and this is the the same plane that droped a 800kg bomb that destroyed the Battleship Arizona
