The largest tornado to hit Kansas appears to have been The F5 tornado that struck several towns on May 17, 1896, killing 25 people. The tornado devastated the towns of Seneca, Oneida, Sabetha, and Reserve, killing 21. It then crossed into Nebraska where it killed 4 more people. At its peak this tornado was about 2.2 miles wide.
There's no city there. That point is in Kansas, somewhat west of Kansas City, about midway between the towns of Linwood and DeSoto, about 3 miles north of State Route 10, just south of Golden Rd., between the railroad and the north bank of the Kansas River.
The entire District of Columbia is a single city (Washington) with one municipal government; there are no towns in the district.
