You can get to the Bronx zoo in New York City by train if you take the Number 2 MTA train to Pelham Parkway station. Alternatively, you can take the Harlem line Metro North train to Fordham, then take the Bx9 bus going east, getting off at 183rd Street and Southern Boulevard.

The only subway lines that run into the Bronx are the 4-5-6 (the dark green line), the 2 (of the 1-2-3, the red line) and the B and D (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line).

All of these subway lines run into Brooklyn as well. However, they may not run to the part of Brooklyn you are coming from. In that case, you will have to take another subway line, and then transfer.

Also, which one to take depends upon where in the Bronx you're going to.

To get a more useful answer, please ask your question again, this time specifying exactly where in Brooklyn you are coming from, and exactly where in the Bronx you are going to.

You can take the 2 train to 110th Street-Central Park North (north end of the park, at Lenox Avenue).

You can also take the 2 to 96th Street, transfer there to the 1 (local train), and take the 1 to 59th Street-Columbus Circle (southwest corner of the park).

B or D trains (on the orange line)

You can take the B or D to 59th Street-Columbus Circle (southwest corner of the park).

You can also take the B (a local train) to any of the following local stops on Central Park West: 110th Street-Cathedral Parkway (northwest corner of the park), 103rd Street, 96th Street, 86th, 81st-Museum of Natural History, 72nd, 59th-Columbus Circle.

Note that the B doesn't run on weekends.

Or, you can take the 4 or 5 to 59th Street-Lexington Avenue, and either walk 3 blocks west to 5th Avenue and 59th Street (southeast corner of the park), or you can transfer at 59th-Lexington to the Downtown N-R-Q (yellow line), 1 stop, to 5th Avenue-59th Street.

You can take the 6 (local train) to any of the following local stops on Lexington Avenue: 110th Street, 103rd Street, 96th Street, 86th, 77th, 68th-Hunter College, 59th-Lexington.
