What training do you need to be a university lecturer in the US?

It depends on the discipline, but, in general, the minimum requirement is a Master's degree. A Ph.D is preferred.

To get the recognition universities and colleges need they need to be accredited by the accreditation agencies approved by the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the US Department of Education (USDE). or the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). Lorenz is not an accredited online university whose accreditation is from such an approved agency. The degree programs offered by a properly approved accredited universities are generally accepted and recognized by employers and other universities as well.

If you're attending one of the US military academies, your basic training is conducted as part of your curriculum. Now if you attend a JROTC programme at a private university, then you'll have to go through OBT.

The University of Georgia and Georgia State University are both universities in the US. I've never heard of "Georgia University."
