You need to be successful in the job application. If you are the right person its as simple as that! However having a degree and a higher degree (preferably a doctorate) will certainly help.
Answer: Most university lecturers have a doctorate or a broadly equivalent "terminal degree", and many these days will also hold a teaching certificate for higher education: usually obtained whilst working as a graduate teaching assistant or junior lecturer.
There are, however, no hard & fast rules, & it's not uncommon for someone who has no doctorate but significant publications/ achievements to his/ her name to be awarded a permanent post. Prominent examples in the arts/ humanities include the historian Simon Schama (although he has now moved to the USA), & the poet & critic Tom Paulin (Fellow of Hertford College, Oxford); in science/ technology a good example is Tim Berners-Lee.
Formally, the minimum requirement to lecture, for example, at Oxford Univ is the MLitt (or a research based MSc), but in practice this is waived regularly. Generally, in British universities "real world" experience and/ or significant publication will always trump formal qualifications, especially in more "vocational" fields - eg computing, engineering, journalism/ media, performing arts, law, business etc..
That stated, if you're aiming for an academic career from the start, then these days it's probably wise to think in terms of first degree with high honours (preferably a First), followed by a Master's & a Doctorate, plus as much teaching experience as you can get as a graduate teaching assistant, demonstrator, or remedial tutor to undergrads..
Additionally, many newly minted PhDs (especially in arts/ humanities) do the PGCE (school teaching certificate) & spend a few years teaching in Secondary Schools/ 6th Form Colleges (whilst continuing to research/ publish in their spare time/ during the long holidays) before applying for university posts: many universities like this "profile" because it greatly enhances institutional understanding of where prospective students are coming from, & helps to forge/ maintain links with schools.
The average salary for a lecturer is about $55,000 Euros a year. A lecturer is equivalent to a college professor in the US.
I believe it would mean further training after graduating from a university.
You need to have a lot of skill, training, and you need to be really good.
In the US, the first requirement is to complete a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. There are also background checks to be done. Then you will attend some sort of officers' training, which can be done while attending college through the Reserve Officers' Training Corps.
