The 1987 Ford F3 50 transmission fluid capacity is 8.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick.
Internal transmission failure.
If it's an automatic transmission, then it's a THM 700R4/4L60, and it's used in almost every type of RWD vehicle Chevy makes, whether a full size car, a van, a pickup or an SUV. They probably built about 50 million of these transmissions, worldwide.
Time to replace the transmission.
you could if you want but I prefer lucas transmission fix.
Is this a manual transmission? If so, this is a pretty common problem for these cars. Probably going to have to replace the shifter cable. About $50 at Advance.
On asphalt it would. Dirt wouldn't cause too many problems
Why would you want to trade it? Anyway, to our knowledge, motor mounts, don't tinker with any transmission wires. 50/50 shot on transmission out right. Really though, my 4.3 4x4 gives the 350 v8 a run for it's money as long as I can hold it on the road. Mines a 1989.
I'd check the hose going to the 50 mph transmission lock up modulator first as it sounds like the likely culprit.
They recomend a 50-50 mix of water and antifreeze
