what could be the couse for a bad gas millege in a 1991 mercury tracer?
For a ( 1990 ) Mercury Tracer , my Chilton's book shows ( 11.9 U.S. gallons )
The 1991 Ford Probe does not have a transmission fluid intake reservoir. All of the transmission fluid is contained in the transmission.
Fluid is inside the transmission.

No ( according to Gates , they manufacture timing belts etc . ) Neither the 1.8 L or 1.9 L 4 cylinder engines are interference engines in a 1991 Mercury Tracer
look for it around the transmission bell housing, the bendix gear in the starter motor has to mesh with the flywheel inside the transmission bell housing in order to turn over the engine.
Sounds like transmission trouble. May be transmission is not upshifting into high gear
what kind of transmission fluid does a 1991 bmw 525i need
