700r4 1993 to 1996 then 1997 to 2002 its a 4L60_E
That would be wrong. I have a 1995 and the stock tranny is a 4L60E, in 96 the SS made it's debut back into the scene for the first time since 1972. The '93 and '94 both had a 4L60, however their was an optional Borg-Warner six speed manual transmission in the '93 that ended up getting it a spot as a pace car for Nascar that season.

Yes.
yea but its a pain. better off finding a stick car
4l60e
The LS1 and LT1 designations are for the engine not the transmission. A 1993 Camaro Z28 would have originally been fitted with an LT1 engine. Available transmissions behind the LT1 would have been the Borg Warner T-56 (manual), or the 4L60E (automatic).
It came with the 700r4 automatic.
4l60e transmission and they suck i own a 94 z28 replaced 3 of em
