Pontiac does not make a transmission dipstick, unless the newer ones have them. Actually, the early models did. My '96 had one. Later models did not. The trans fluid is checked via a plug in the side of the trans-axle.
It is inside the side cover of the transmission. I have seen this with the trans still in the car but it would have been easier to take the transmission out to repair it.

The trans filter is located inside the trans. You have to remove the pan from the bottom of the trans. You should be able to see it when the pan has been removed.
