That will depend on which homeplug type adapters you use. Lots of adapters are rated at 85Mbps which is slower than the 100Mbps that is most common with standard ethernet connections. Some homeplug adapters, however, support up to 200Mbps allowing them to actually be faster in between the adapters than the rest of the 100Mpbs network. You'll just need to pay attention to what speed the adapters are rated for.
