Moraine is the rock debris accumulated by and in a glacier. Eventually, this becomes deposited either in the sea, a lake, or a river.
If it is further moved, by a stream say, it is no longer called a moraine. But for a little way downstream it may be called moraine outwash.
moraine is a sedimentary rock. All sedimentary rocks are formed from the deposition of eroded sediments, pebbles, boulders... etc. Morain is a glacial deposit. As a glacier moves over the land it erodes and transports bits of rock. When the glacier melts it deposits these bits of rock to form morain.
Lateral moraine, Medial moraine and Terminal moraine.
There are many types of moraines. These include medial moraine, lateral moraine, ground moraine, and terminal moraine. The type that forms along each side of a glacier is a terminal moraine. The one that forms from unsorted rock materials is called a medial moraine.
